Love Prinzipien
It was crucial for us to make nail polish safer for you to use and to love. Consequently, none of these ingredients are to be found in our products:
Phthalates (including dibutyl phthalate (DBP), diethyl hexyl phthalate (DEHP)), toluene (aka: methylbenzene), xylene, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, ethyl tosylamide, styrene/acrylate copolymer, triphenyl phosphate, rosin, parabens, benzophenones, silicones, fragrances, animal ingredients.
Furthermore, our nail polish colors do not contain Acrylate Copolymer or any other liquid or solid microplastic or gluten.
All LOVE Cosmetics nail products are 100% vegan and we do not use any ingredients deriving from animals. Our vegan nail polish does not contain carmine, which is commonly used as a red pigment and comes from cochineal scale insects. Neither do we use guanine, which is extracted from fish scales and used in glitter and metallic shades.

In addition to creating a vegan nail polish alternative, we also deeply care to make it the most sustainable. While the product itself cannot be completely natural, recyclable nor biodegradable, we have tried to give our best and integrate more eco-friendly components compared to the market standards. Consequently, we decided on a solvent which is 100% plant-based – compared to conventional solvents that are known to derive from petrochemicals. Additionally, no trace of styrene/acrylate copolymer is to be found in our nail polish, which is more commonly known as microplastic, and is often identified even in natural nail polish solutions.
Another choice related to engaging in a sustainable solution, was our decision to use bottles with a capacity of 11 ml. Since each individual bottle embodies a piece of LOVE, it was extremely important to us to make them particularly lovable, long-lasting and with an optimal filling capacity. In this way we avoid unnecessary waste and use resources as sparingly as possible.
When LOVE Cosmetics was created, German quality and craftsmanship emerged as a particularly important pillar. We therefore decided to partner up with a German manufacturer, where every bottle is filled individually and by hand by wonderful women.
We also foster German partnerships for other marketing material and prints. This is not only a way to receive excellent quality, but we also care to support other small companies with a vision and dedication.
WHAT'S IN OUR POLISHES AND WHY?
ETHYL ACETATE
Ethylacetat ist ein Lösungsmittel, das dazu beiträgt, den Nagellack in der Flasche flüssig zu halten, der aber auf den Nägeln verdunstet, so dass der Nagellack aushärten kann. Ethylacetat hat einen fruchtigen Geruch riecht aber im Nagellack leicht stechend und stark. Die Lösungsmittel im Nagellack sind es, die dem Nagellack seinen typischen Geruch verleihen. Ethylacetat kann petrochemisch oder pflanzlich gewonnen werden. In unseren LOVE Cosmetics Nagellacken ist es zu 100 % pflanzlichen Ursprungs.
BUTYL ACETATE
Butylacetat ist ein weiteres Lösungsmittel, das dazu beiträgt, den Nagellack in der Flasche flüssig zu halten, aber auf den Nägeln verdunstet, so dass der Nagellack aushärten kann. Butylacetat hat ebenfalls einen fruchtigen Geruch und riecht im Nagellack leicht stechend und stark und verleiht damit den typischen Nagellack-”Geruch”. Butylacetat kann petrochemisch oder pflanzlich gewonnen werden und ist in den LOVE Cosmetics Nagellacken zu 100% pflanzlichen Ursprungs.
NITROCELLULOSE
Ein filmbildendes Polymer, das, nachdem die Lösungsmittel verdunstet sind, auf den Nägeln aushärtet und dort einen harten Film bildet. Damit der Nagellack sich verfestigt und lange auf den Nägeln hält, benötigt er ein filmbildendes Polymer. Nitrocellulose ist eines der sichersten und qualitativ hochwertigsten filmbildenden Polymere.
ADIPIC ACID/NEOPENTYL GLYCOL/TRIMELLITIC ANHYDRIDE COPOLYMER
Dies ist ein filmbildendes Polymer. Bei Nitrocellulose hilft dieser Inhaltsstoff, den Nagellack hart und geschmeidig auf den Nägeln zu halten. Auch trägt er zur Langlebigkeit bei.
DIACETONE ALCOHOL
Ein Lösungsmittel, das auch zu einem glänzenden Finish des Nagellacks beiträgt.
TRIETHYL CITRATE ALCOHOL
Im Nagellack wird dieser Inhaltsstoff als Weichmacher verwendet. Weichmacher bewirken das der Nagellack flexibler wird und erhöhen seine Haltbarkeit. Sie tragen dazu bei, dass der Nagellack weniger anfällig für Risse oder Absplitterungen ist.
STEARALKONIUM BENTONITE
Ein Verdickungsmittel, welches dazu beiträgt, die Pigmente in der Schwebe zu halten und die glatte und dicke Konsistenz des Nagellacks zu erhalten.
MALTOL
Maltol ist eine natürlich vorkommende organische Verbindung, die häufig als Aromastoff verwendet wird. In unserem Nagellack verwenden wir Maltol jedoch nicht für das Aroma, sondern für etwas ganz anderes. Maltol hat bewiesen, dass es die Bildung von Nitrosaminen, die in sehr geringen Mengen aus Nitrocellulose gebildet werden können, deutlich minimiert. Das hat eine großartige Wirkung, die unseren Nagellack noch besser macht als bisher.
PENTAERYTHRIL TETRAISOSTEARATE
Ein flüssiger Weichmacher, der die Viskosität erhöht und dem Nagellack Glanz verleiht.
PHOSPHORIC ACID
Dies ist eine Mineralsäure, die zur Kontrolle des pH-Wertes des Nagellacks verwendet wird.
PIGMENTE
Diese verleihen dem Nagellack seine Farbe, seinen Glanz, seinen Schimmer und/oder seinen Metallton. Pigmente werden mit ihren CI-Nummern bezeichnet.
